Your water, sewer and trash charges will arrive together on one bill. Your utility bill is due on or before the 15th of each month. If you have questions regarding your utility bill, please contact The Utility Billing Clerk
Charges for utilities/services are:
The residential base rate is $6.00 plus $0.103 per KWH used.
The commercial base rate is $7.00 plus $0.103 per KWH used.
The base water rate is $26.00 per month which includes the first 1,000 gallons. Thereafter the customer is charged $3.75 per thousand gallons.
For persons living outside of the city limits the base rate is $26.00 for the first 1,000 gallons, thereafter $3.75 per thousand gallons.
Each user pays for services provided by the City based on use of the treatment works as determined by water meters provided by the City.
For residential customers, monthly user charges will be based on average monthly water usage during the months of January, February, and March. If a residential customer has not established a January, February and March average, the monthly user charge shall be the median charge of all other residential customers.
For industrial and commercial customers, user charges shall be based on water used during the current month.
The minimum charge per month shall be $15.00. In addition, each customer shall pay a user charge rate for operation and maintenance including replacement and debt service of $1.50 per 1000 gallons of water or wastewater as determined in the proceeding section.

If you would like to purchase a polycart for your trash, you can buy a 95 gallon one (pictured to the left) from the city for $80.00. Contact the city offices to purchase one.
A dusk to dawn light rental is $9.00 per month. The City will maintain the light.
Meter insulators are available for sale at City Hall for $8.00. Meters should be insulated from October 30th to April 1st. Customers with a frozen meter will be charged a $30.00 replacement charge.

If you need to make arrangements with the City of Marion for payments on your your utility bill, please download the Payment Agreement Form (pdf), complete and sign it and return it in pwerson to the City Offices. A payment agreement is not in effect until the attached form is completed, signed by you and agreed to and signed by a City of Marion representative.
