Marion's original park, "Central Park" has been a focal point of Marion for over a Century. Settlers that came to this area had family gatherings, played games and enjoyed the outdoors in this "community" area. Even today, Parks and Recreation are a large part of the Marion Community as seen in the daily activities in the parks and various community activities offered through the Marion-Florence Recretation Commission.

CENTRAL PARK

Central Park is the hub of activity in Marion. There is a play area for children of all ages with slides, swings, monkey bars, bridges and climbing. There is also a smaller, separate area for small children with a slide and climbing areas. We have merry-go-rounds, sandboxes, teeter-totters and lots of picnic areas. There is also a beautiful natural spring and native grass area for your enjoyment. There is a walking trail, basketball court, sand volleyball and a gazebo with restroom facilities and a drinking fountain. You can spend hours enjoying the beauty of Central Park.

EAST PARK

East Park is located across from the Elementary School on the corner of Lawrence and Thorp. This park is complete with a skate park area, tennis courts, swings and picnic areas.

It is also located conviently across the street from the USD408 pool and gymnasium which is currently being built.

LIBERTY PARK

Liberty Park is located downtown on the corner of Main and 2nd streets. This is a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of our downtown area.

Liberty Park was named in honor of the beautiful wall mural on the side of the Stone City Cafe building. The gazebo which sits in the rear of the park was built by the Regnier family to honor the late Jack Regnier, a long time Marion resident, business owner and community leader.

BASEBALL COMPLEX

The Baseball complex is located on Eisenhower Drive next to the High School Football field and track. We have a play area for children and four baseball diamonds to allow entertainment for all ages.

We wrapped up another successful season of basketball this past Saturday, so now it is time to think BASEBALL/SOFTBALL/BLAST BALL!!!! Registrations, as always, are due March 15 to avoid paying a late fee!! Registration forms and Coach’s applications are available below. Thanks and see you at the fields!
