City Clerk

The City Clerk for the City of Marion is responsible for ensuring that the administrative responsibilities of the city are carried out in a prompt, efficient, and lawful manner, keeps a minute record of council meetings, maintains an ordinance book, acts as custodian of the city’s seal and records, maintains an accurate accounting system to enter all city money transactions, receipts, and disbursements, processes payroll and related tax reports, prepares and submits various government reports, maintains an awareness of constantly changing laws, rules, and regulations governing all aspects of city administrative and financial operations, corresponds with other local governments and with the League of Kansas Municipalities.

The City Clerk for the City of Marion is Woodrow Crawshaw, Jr. He is a graduate of Washburn University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Adminmistration. He has also been a Certified Public Accountant since 1977, worked as a Comptroller for a Kansas manufacturing corporation and, after retiring, worked for the Marion County Ambulance Department as a billing clerk and then as the Office Manager. He also has run his own Tax Preperation Business since 1969.
